Gordie led fo r the first five"lap s, but all of a sudden he found himself following Marti, and it wasn't until th e last lap that Gordie got the lead and the win. Dave Lujan wa s third. Cliff Whetstone won the Amateur 250 short track and half-mile . Miss -Bob bi Hunter transferred from Novice and gave him a heck of a run for his money. Bob Eary was third. Terry Sin gleton will be a rider to be reckoned with among the 125 Novices. He topped Jeff Eary to win the short track, and Joanne Redding on the half-mile. Little Mike Word took the .I 00 Novice win by winning his semi and was the only one able to make it back to the line for the main. The best race of the evening was the Open Novice half-mile. Stan Kinsey got off on top , followed by Gary Pettis and Ken Griner. On lap four Ken moved into second but dropped back to third on the last lap to set up for a spectacular finish. J Gregg Toy ama literally d u sted the 100 Experts with three hol eshots and very comfortable leads at the end of each moto , Gregg and his FMF Honda appear to already have the track wired. Although the 12 5 Pro clas s was a bit . small it produced some mighty fine dici ng be tween two young fast cats, Scot Clifton and Marty Miller. Marty, on his Miller Mano Honda, challenged Scot's T & M machine heavily for the · lead in all three rnotos, He chalked up the first moto win after Clifton got a little wild and went off the track while leading the race. It was the first time Taylor has ever won two classes in one night.
