The Open A's mixed it up both motos to give the spectators something to warm u p over as Charles Geist, Bob Hargrove, Shane Cannon and " Gary Buckley engaged in close racing for the front spots. For those desperate -rnud -o-crosse rs, a one mota mud race was held with Darwin Huckabee splashing his way into first ahead of second place Jay LeBlanc. An unusually large 125 Expert class hit the first turn with Bo Koch taking his usual quick lead. Koch began pulling away from the pack only to discover Mickey Pizzatola right on his rear fender. The pair diced for the lead for seven laps as Robert Coreale main tained a safe third followed by King Tie ken in fourth. Pizzatola was still applying pressure on the last lap when his bike broke allowing Koch an easy victory. Coreale ad vanced in to second place with Tieken taking third. The crowded 250 Amateur class had both heavy crashing and racing with Jay LeBlanc taking advantage of an early lead to avoid all competition in route to victory. Darwin Hu ckabee followed for second place ahead of a hard charging Richard Lenoard. Wayne Rutherford worked his way through the pack to secure fourth place. • Indian Territory Raceway By R. W. Jones PRAGUE. OKLA.• JAN. 4 Indian Territory Raceway started their four month series today with the hardy racers coming out to race on a cool day with a high o f "36 degrees. to get a jump on the ones th at ' stayed home for the giant 40 in ch trophy and the No. 1 pl ate . The 125 Novice class was a real thriller. with - Scott Lo y and J am es Lambert battling down to th e wire. Sissy Hill was hot on Kcll y King's rear knobby when the checkered dropped to 'take fourth for the d ay. The Open "Novices go t off th e lirie with Sissy's brother Jim Hilt taking it at th e first co rn er in both m o t os and winning all the way with Ronnie Ainsworth righ t behind in seco nd.
