David Daniels (125 Yam ) was moving up through the pack, and began to really p ush Rey Longoria (2 50 Bul], Daniels dogged him for several laps and finally put a block past on him. Soo n afterwards Daniels' radical 12 5 seized, dro pping him out of the race. Another 125 rider, Bobby ' Bullock (Ya m) of Austin was p ush ing it hard an d was hol ding down a solid fou rth place. Bro wn took th e lead aga in in the second heat an d never lo o k e d back, eventually pulling ou t a 4 5-seco nd by th e end o f th e 20 minute m o to , Reynolds wa s close at firs t , but h is CZ quit, leaving second to Bobby Morgan . Jim Hohlt (Mai) of Aus tin to o k second. J on es DNF'ed the second mo to, and Ho hlt p ut th is to his advantage and won handily. Parker , of San Anto nio, took an easy second fo r sec o nd overall. San Antonio's AI Bushong rode a n ew fire-e ng ine-red Elsinore to th ird . San Antonio 's Mike Moliere (Hus) 12 5 Novice- In te rmediate wo n the co mb ine d cla ss with two good rid es. Moliere took th e ea rly lead in both mo tos, and was ofte n fo llo wed closely by th e Zettner brothers, Scott an d St eve, both mounted o n Can -Ams. Scott Zeltne r took second in t he first moto , bu t he had to w o rk his wa y up th rough th e pack in th e second heat, so h is 2-5 score left him wi th a third ov erall, J eff Frazier o f San Anto nio (Hon) took second overall wi th a 4-2 score .
