The 250 Pros produced some mighty fine racing between lo cal shoe J eff Jennings and Texas star Steve Wise on a factory Kawasaki. Jeff Jennings took the IlI'St moto wire to wire while Robert Elliot, the first time out on his factory-backed Suzuki, pulled a second right in front of Wise, who had to work his way through traffic to earn third. The second moto was where some fast-paced action went on. This time Wise ' pulled the st art and Jennings was back a few spots. Track & Travel racer, Val Tamietti held second. Mike Bell , looking good on his new Husky, moved to third. Val began to drop back and Bell moved to second and Jennings moved to third. Bell then ran off the track while t rying to hold off J ennings an d J eff soon fo cused on the hot Texan , Don't ..~.. goracmg this winter • . ••do Wise. Steve and Jeff are as close as you get for the last half of the moto and it was some super handlbar banging going on between the two. Jennings tried hard to pass the Kawasaki rac er but Wise rode his Texas heart o ut and took the moto win. It was too bad that after ' such a go od ride Wise had to settle for second overall with Jennings getting first with a 1-3 score. Right in the shadow of the top two, Robert Elliot collected th ird. Wheelsmith rider, Doug Sherman took the 500 Pro class after teammate ' J on Derhammer fell back while leading the first moto, Jon had bike troubles first moto bu t put it to 'em the second time taking the moto win, but out of the ove ral l p lacing.
