This me an t they would be ou t for blood in the th ird go-round. The yo ung sters gave the c ro wd an exciting third moto , never slac kin g off a second. Larry do gged Brett every foo t of the wa y , just wai t in g for a mistake, but Brett never bo bbled and took th e flag to wrap up the go ld . Randy Woodall took a solid third, putting together a 3-7-3 se ries. Some of the da y 's ke enest co m pe tmo n ca me in th e Super Min i class a mo ng several of the top South T exas miniriders. Kyl e Landrum got the holesh ot in th e first moto , lead ing for a lap and a half un ti l Larry Hu gh es slipped by him with J ohn . Bersch fo llowing suit. Kingville 's mighty mite, J aime Killion, to ok third o n the last lap , push in g Kyle ba ck to fourth . The seco nd shake-up showed John Bers ch o u t in front all the way, puttin g down Jaime's hard -ch argin g bi t to ta ke over the lead. Larry Hu ghes fini shed up in thi rd. J aime pu t it al l toge ther the last moto wrapping up a 3-2-1 ser ies but it was one point down from John's 2-1-2 th at too k th e ove rall win . The Open Novice class was a fast, d ust-filled bash t ha t wa s neatl y wrapped up by J am es Coppedge. Weldon Rie b schl eage and Ronnie Blac k knocked each o th er aro u nd for an o veral l tie but Weldon took the win due to a better finish in the last m oto. The only mone y m at ch run was the Op en class. This was taken b y Ronnie Pen teco st, wh o hasn 't raced in ab ou t a ye ar . Ronnie was the h o t dude aro u n d Kin gsville for about two years before school co m mi tm en ts took over hi s ti me for a while. He 's back now and lo o ks lik e he'll be go ing strong. Clifton Pennington upped his fin ish each rnoto;' putting to gether a 3-2-1 to take seco nd just ah ead of Clifton Hi cks (2-3-2). • Results in Results Section.
