Jim Lawson (Yam) finished with a
goo d lead at the end o f the first
125 Intermediate race, but his rear
end got smashed up, putting him
out for the res t of the night. Mark
Lester (Hon) an d Steve Harper (Hon )
took over with Lester claiming first in
moto two and Harper took it in the
final moto,
There was quite a bit of action in the
125 Senior class, David Williams (Yam)
in first all the way. Steve Bauer (Hon)
was second, an d running third un til he
fell was Robin Richey (Hon). Bauer fell
on the checkered flag lap to give his
secon d place spot to Rick Stout (Yam).
The second moto ended the same,
Williams, Stout , th en Bauer. In the final
moto, Williams was ah ead, Floyd Burk
(Yam) was number two, Stout was
third, and Bauer had fourth . Bauer
passed Stout, then fell, Stout shot ahead
and got by Burk to finish second and
claim th e second overall money.
In the 250 Junior class, J erry Seel ey
(Hus) took first in moto o ne , followed
by Rick Shuttleworth (Mai) and George
Crezee (Yam ). In the seco n d moto Dave
Crowfoot (Yam) led the ' way, Doug
Kramer (Mon ) was in seco nd , and th ird
went to Shuttleworth. Shuttleworth
took the win in th e final race, and
overall first. Crowfoot got second and
third was taken b)' Kramer.
Paul Ingles (Ya m ) pulled straight
firsts in the 50 0 Junior class, for an
impressive first overall. Kevin Roche
(Mai) took seconds in motos one and
two, but only go t fifth in the final race,
putting him third overall and giving the
second place to David Beaumont (Suz).

Palmdale 's Jeff Hares took the 125
Beginners with two firsts and a second
leaving Bernard Unhassibissi second
pl ace brass for California City, in a
tightly fought race .

Goldsmith took th e win with two firsts
and a second aboard his Suzuki. Hi
desert hotshoes wrapped up 100

Valley's Ted Thompson grabbing th e
lead from Victorville's David Adams
aboard a Honda. Mechanical problems
' plagu ed several good racers including
Robert Land who too k the first moto
before his scooter scattered.
Moving to Novice ranks didn't seem
to bo ther Ken Reeve's winning streak in
mini competition. Out of ei ght trophies
to Ridgecrest, two were won by mini
Beginners including J eff Blac k in 11-14
competition ages and the mini-est Pat :
Galan in 0-10 year olds.
