Aug. 10-Team Husqvarna's Brad Lackey became the first
American ever to win a 500cc Grand Prix moto bv
defeating Belgium's Roger DeCoster in the second moto
of the Luxembourg 500cc Grand Prix.
Aug. 17-"Bad" Brad returned to the U.S. and promptly
ran off with First Overall in the 500cc National MX
Championship at Axton, Virginia.
