The
Padilla/Belknap team finished second

The Kallen/Garcia team would have
finished t hird b ut in the frant ic battle
for the lead , Garcia took the bike from
Kallen and charged out of the pits
before Chris could put the required
bandoleer over Ruben's sho ulder. The
rider's instructions warned th at riding
without
that

meant
disqualification and so it was th at their
outstanding ride wen t down the tube s.
Bill Conroy and Kevin Hasten, j ust

to try and catch up . Even though his air

II looks like Cyrus Palmer and Danny
Jones 11 (40 0 Yam ) were the overall
Beginner winners. With all t he lapping
going on however, its hard to tell and all
results herein are very unofficial.
The 22-m ile course was very fast , '
with lots of sandwashes and a long
fireroad to boot, The leaders were go ing
around in about 26 minutes. No wonder
the Beginners, starting 15 minutes af te r
the first wave , were all lapped.
