IIIMY OWN RACE:
35 HUNTER LAWRENCE
13-7 250SX WEST
Hunter Lawrence (Geico Honda) made
his Supercross debut Wednesday. "So
good to be back at the races," said Law-
rence. "At one point, I went six months
with no riding due to back-to-back
injuries. It was fun to dip my toes into
Supercross for the first me. We had
a few problems with crashes, though.
I think I was up to fi h in my heat race
when I went down, and then in the
main I hit neutral when I was trying to
avoid two guys stopped at the end of
the whoops. I had to come from last."
Lawrence finished seventh Sunday.
51 JUSTIN BARCIA
DNF-9 450SX
Just Barcia has had a tough me in
Salt Lake City, the toughest coming
Wednesday when he crashed so hard
that he couldn't find his bike! "In the
main event, I was ba ling pre y hard
with a lot of the guys," Barcia said. "I
got a li le sideways in the whoops
and then it just kicked out too crazy
and the bike went flying [far off the
track]. I dinged myself up a li le, but
I'm alright. Unfortunately, my bike was
broken a er the crash and I wasn't
able to finish the race."

said of Sunday's victory despite
phoning his dad earlier in that
day and telling him, "I'm winning
today."
Roczen went on to say after
Sunday's victory, "I always lay it
out there and never want to give
up. It's tough after having so many
negative races, three of them,
really. I came here and pretended
like nothing [had] happened. I was
just hitting my mark [on the track].
It wasn't like I was going a crazy
speed. I just tried to hit my marks
and hang in there."
The win moved Roczen back
into second place in the cham-
pionship (after losing it to Webb
Wednesday), and it makes it just
a little bit more difficult for points
