"I was being pre y pa ent," he said. "I
knew with the ght turns the lappers
would come into play heavily, so I was
just kind of wai ng. I caught [Ferrandis]
pre y quick a er I got by [Chris an]
Craig, and then we kind of evened
out—I'd be faster, he'd be faster—it was
just cat and mouse. I saw an opening
and just went for it. I was wai ng for
any li le thing and needed to pounce.
Whoops were my strongpoint. It's
crunch me, I have to win."

Dylan Ferrandis was not a happy man
a er ge ng passed by Forkner while
leading Sunday's 250SX West main
event and finishing second to him
Wednesday. He talked about sur-
rendering the lead to Forkner a er
Sunday's race. "It was a bad night for
me. [I] made a mistake, not jumping
when I saw the yellow flag," he said.
"That cost me a few seconds and broke
the gap, and he was able to a ack me
on the next lap. I was mad with myself.
No excuse, I was so mad."
