In the Saturday night short track event,
J.R. Rawls rode to victory on Eagle D/T
tires, front and rear, to complete a
Goodyear sweep of Memorial Stadium
short track racing.
The results at Daytona were an impressive testimony to the
performance of Goodyear motorcycle tires. In addition to
Romero's victory, Kenny Roberts won the l Ofl-Mile Expert/
Junior 250cc road race on Goodyear racing slicks, front and
rear.
In short track competition, Goodyear Eagle D/T tires were
on all four nights' winners ridden by Steve Poneleit, Terry
Poovey and J .R. Rawls. Three winners ran Goodyear Eagle
D/T both front and rear.
