half of the first mota until dropping Lack to second with a faltering machine. Brian J odry was hot. He was close on Rapp's tail and took over the lead when Rapp slowed with problems. Jodry astride a quick Montesa lengthened his lead over Rapp and Mark Gibson in third. Rapp had to give up the race as his bike got worse and th is gave Mark Gibson the sec ond place spot with Rocky Poco ck and Russ Powell fight ing . for third. Gibso n took over the lead when Jodry slid out, dropping him to fifth. Gibson took the rnoto" win followed by Russ Powell and Rocky Pocock. . The second m ota was restarted after a bad crash wh ere several riders went down. Kim Ree g got the worst of it as he appeared to have broken his leg. Brian J a dry jumped to an early lead with Kevin Henry, Cloyse Holland and Mark Gibson in close pursuit. J od ry st re tch ed o ut his lead but the action was tight for the next two pl ace s. Gibson high -sided in the sweeper. Kevin Henry an d Cloyse Holland were ha vin g a go o d battle for second which Holland eventually won. Mike Hart was working up from a bad start an d soon pa ssed Henry fo r third. Jodry took the win and the overall t op spot while Mike Hart edged out Clo yse Holland for second in th e second moto giving him second o verall also. Garrett wins six in a row at Dunlap DUNLAP CYCLE PARK, CAL.. FEB . 9 Pro rider Milan Garrett (1\lon) won his sixth straight 250 Expert race Sunday at the Dunlap Motocross. In the first moto, Milan went Arnold Pennt fighting his way for first against John Dongberry in the 125 Amateur class. The race for first in the 250 Expert class was between J im Turner (Bul) and Kevin Henry (Bul). Each shared the spotlight at one time or other, but with ea ch of them having bike trouble and mud baths, Turner proved to be the better mudder, Mark Nessler (Mai) was the only Open Novice to finish, while Joe Elkins (Bul ) took two firsts and the Amateur honors. Open Expert was won by Brian Jodry (CZ) but not without pressure from Kevin Henry and Richard Smart, both on BuIs.
