On the first lap Jim Wright, wh o atten ds Co ron a High Sch o ol, too k the numb er o ne position with T erry Griner, N ick Voge , a nd Dennis J unker all figh ting it o ut for second, as Griner was o n a 360 Yam ah a sing le with Voge and J un ker being o n big 750 Yamahas, . • By the sixth lap Griner clo sed in o n Wright in ' a wheel-t o-wheel battle.
