Th e organizers proudly claimed Lhat every one they talked to sa id it was the best round so far while several Californians I talked to said Washington was better. Still, the Rhody Rovers had run this same course two weeks ago for Novices only, and they must have worked the bugs out of it, as most riders said Lhey 'd like to see the International event here or at Washington (state) nex t year. Anything but where it was at last year, seemed to be the co!'sensus. The New England group plans to ask for the International sanction. The series is set up with three events on the west coast, then three on the east coast, then three in the mid-west, The events are scheduled with two fairly close (if you call driving 415 miles to Monday's round fairly close) rounds on one weekend and the third in a given region the following weekend. In this manner, hopefully a rider can schedule his vacation from work so that he can take in three distan t events, then take in three local events wi thout taking time off from work.
