Carl Cranke moved up fro m his seco nd pl ac e finish a wee k ago to win th e Han dic ap Main . Thi s was Carl's second wee k in th e first divis io n . Mike Roo n ey and Marty Benck make up the B. R. L. (Benck Ra cing Ltd.) team. Mike is having a very good year in the first divis ion and ton ight was Marty's first 0 ·2 w in of the year at Cal Expo. Po in t leader Jo hn Cu nningha m went to the h osp ita l fo r a few stitches after a Hea t race tangle. Butch Corder won his second st raight 'Dash for Dollars' match race in a real close one with Frank Cook. Huff . J ohn Hlebo a n d Danny Castelhano, Huff and J o rgensen battled it out for the first ha lf with Hlebo trying his be st to st ay up. Then about Lap Five. J ohn did the elbow trick and went fro m fifth to ' second in o ne fell swoop ar ound the tre e . Just to wrap it up . he thought he would p ass Kim on the outside on t h e ne xt go-round. Well fo lks. the first pass was nigh onto unbelieveable but to try young Jorgy on the outside is sheer so mething other than smart. Sill. John gave it a sho t. He dove the tree turn wide and fast and ac tually got a wheel p as t the Su zu ki, but trying to get the front wheel to make the sharp left hander and th e rear wheel to stop was too m uch and of co urse he highsided witho ut ge tti ng hurt.
