At th e sta rt of t he 250 Expert Main, Shan e Scott (Y am) scooted o ut to an ea rly lead but had it go to waste as a restart was called. J im Hubbard too k the rest art and went on fo r the win with teammat e Cliff Hylton getting second. Ron Alves was t hird but it t o ok co urag e, as in t h e heat he found his foot right t hrough Dan Pet erso n 's rear wheel and possibly co uld have broken it . Brandon Carnahan (Bu l) t o o k the lead at t he s tart of the 360 Han dicap an d co n tin ued 10 lead wi th di ffi cul t y ove r -Bill Mc Elyea ( Ya m) . T he Ren o rid er , Carna han co uld n 't see m to adapt to the su rface as his hike was all o ver t he trac k. Mc Elye a cras hed and J o hn Gr ant ra n over the bike an d rider causing a restart. Steve Dietz went on for t he win a ft er the restar t with Gran t ho lding on fo r seco n d. Paul ~ I e y er , the 250 Novi ce highpoint leader , ca me back to race after about a month 's absenc e b ut he co uld not get his bike and mind in the groove as he fai led to make the Main for the first ti me th is seaso n . Mike lIa11 (Bul ) went o ut t o a n ear ly lead with Glenn J acobs seco nd and Lester Norton th ird. Then o n the sec o nd lap Hayden The promot ers at Cycleland ha ve yet to d iscover tha t happine ss is a wa rm t ro phy tootsie, but Joe Allen doesn't seem to mind.
