We had water ballon games, sack races, a cracker eating whistling game, and walked blindfolded through a small trap. Oh, yeah. A trials. too. Due to the expected heat the trial was run in small grouns who rode 12 secions three times on one six mile loop. The Expert/Amateur group rode together over the same sections. We started on Section Eight, the dead start hill climb. A 300 foot very slippery dead grass and .roc k climb . All Experts did well except fo r Bergman . His !Ionda 125 was short o n power. The next sec tions varied from tw isti n g loo se rock gul lies to loose ro c k hi ll cli mbs to o ld ho use fo un datio ns . Sect io n Seven was someth ing n e w: a wheelie tra p h ill cl imb mar ked off in zo nes. T he furthe r up the hill you did a wheelie the lower the score. Van Gaasbeek and Mel ton excelle d with only two p o ints lost. G uy Va n Gaasbeek held on fo r a good win with 32 points lost. Joe Masc uline took seco nd with 42 points and thi rd with 45 points was Larry Melton. Marvin Woolard a young very smooth Amateur took his class with 60 po ints los t. He gave the Experts a close go till he missed an exit and took a bad line in section five. Jerry Wiencek (A .T.A. rider) took second with 69 points . The Novice B's started on Section Seven the wheelie trap. They had very good success in tearing off their tail lights. head lights and rear fenders. Evelyn Melton led the Il's with 42 points lost. The Kids {and one bicycle} rode sections 1·24-11 -12. Jimmy Robinson Jr. ran away from the rest with only two points lost. Verlon Robinson took second with I i points lost. Levi Smith Jr. took third with 31' points. He had a little problem with Trap Two. All seven kids t o o k home trop hies . Scott Atchison rode a bicycle on the same sec tions as the kids m o to rcy cl e trials with a score of five . Need I say more . In th e . CZ proved once again that we have this "right comb ina t io n" in the INTERAM Ser ies 'in Lex ington, Oh io where Zdenek Velky too k 1st overall in th e 250 class , to check all compet ition. Velky's w in was backed up by Jaroslav Falta in second. Th is about cinches the INTERAM series .. . and we think even Bobby Fisher would admire ou r consistency.
