Approximately 235 riders put on a great exhibition of slipping and sliding in front of a big turnout of spe ctat ors. The Hot Shoes in the Modified Minibike class w ere SI ev e Copley (Ya m) who won the Troph y Dash and the A Main , Scott Miller ( li o n) and Kent Chapman (Kaw). In the 125 A Main Chet Campbell Jim T urn er co ntin ued his winn in g ways as he. again pic ked up o n the 250 Expert class. T urne r had thi ngs pretty mu ch his own \Va)! wh en he took the lead o n th e firs t lap of i\loto One and was never head ed. Ron Self ' made a final app earan ce o n a Husky before leaving for a fact ory ri de o n i\l ontesa in Los Angel es . M o t o T w o w asn 't so e asy for Turner as h e was held ba ck to a bou t fou rth a t th e st art. Out front was Ron Self looking sli ghtly out -of-shape on a n ew lI usky. Coming up fas t was T u rn e r on th e A +A Motors Bu lt a co a nd h e was intent on first in this malo. to o . For several lap s Turner stayed right on Self's rear w heel. As the y moved o n to the Lafaye tte straight Turner ro lled on t he gas and the Blue Bul p ulled away like Self was standing still. Turner again was first at the nag for the Ov erall win. Self picked up se cond Overall and Mike Amaral ca me in for third. Anot her good ra ce w as Raing between J ohn Silva and Carl Pfister in the Intermediate class. In Moto One Silv a had his Bu ltac o out fr o n t and Pfist er was back qui te a ways, '''hh in a co u p le of laps Carl w as ri~ht up with Silva but Silva managed to h old Pfister at bay till the fin ish.
