In the Novice Class, w inners were Bobby Jones (Ho n) , 100cc ; Ra ndy Gauvin (H o n) , 125cc ; Robert Jenson (Yam) , 250cc; and John Lewis (Mai), Open. Jones, again riding a Honda, took the Minibike N ovice, rou nd ing o ut a perfect night in th e saddle. With over 400 co mpe tito rs o n hand there we re a few changes wh ich are listed below b y race : First race - Ch erry St ockton, rid ing a 125 Bult aco, finished first o verall and was a lso firs t 'Po wder Pu ff. Second ove rall wen t to Ch eryl Acre s (DKW), who pla ced first in Powder Puff, under 16 division. In th e m inibike co mpetitio n , Jerry Lit tle (Ho n) finishe d fif th overall and was first a t Minibike Ex pert. Ricky Simmons, rid ing a Kaw asaki , fin ished e igh th overall but was first Mini b ike Novice. Twel fth overall wen t to Jim Butler (Hon) , wh o was first at Min ibike Beginner. Seco nd race - Some major ch anges in official results t o b e found here, wit h first pla ce o vera ll go in g to Ric k Seefried , moun ted o n a 125 Husky. Seefried was first a t 125 Beginner, under 16. Se cond p lace ove ra ll went t o Rick Mu nyon (Pen}, wh o was firs t at 125 Beginner, while six th pla ce overall was ca p tured b y Ron Hunnicutt (Yam) , first place in 10 0 Beginn er. Third race - First place o verall remained the sam e, with Kevin McNeal (CZ), finishing first ove rall and firs t Open Beginner. Fourth overall wen t to Eric Barginear (Mai). who was first 250 Beginnerr, under 16. In seventh place overall, Mark Erickson (CZ), settled for first place 250 Beginner. In 13th overall was Brian Web b [Suz], who was · first 175 Begin ner. Dave Turnquist (Cl ), wa s 26th overall and first 250 Beginner, over 35, an d Ro bert Abbott (Suz) finis he d 28th overall, first O pen Beginner, over 35.
