He beat both current World Champions and his fast fellow Maico-mates, Bauer and Wolsink, with a smooth two-one finishing combination. Adolf's performance today put him firmly in the lead forthe series title. The First 500 Moto Just because it was a well.prepared surface didn't mean Road Atlanta offered an easy track. On the fourth lap, he was already lapping the tail-enders and by the sixth go 'round he had built up a half-minute cushion over Bauer. He looked totally out of context as he flew by other GP riders wearing shiny leathers and fancy chest protectors while this super Swede wore a scruffy pair of pan ts and a yellow sweat shirt with his name Magic-Markered on the back. Bauer and Weil built up their own little lead in second and third ahead of Geboers who, by mid-race, began dropping back ·with bike problems. Roger DeCoster passed Hakan Andersson and took up the fourth position that his Suzuki teammate bad left open. The 250 World Champion didn't take kindly to the idea and glued
