True, they re-plant in some areas but how long does it take one of those big trees to grow? None of us or our children's children will live to see a full grown redwood plan ted now. As the King said in "Anna and the King of Siam" this government will always be "a puzzlement. " You IT racers in the District can shed a few tears. Corona is closed and a legal suit pending. It's not the people who live close to the track who complained but those much further out. One of my grapevines reports there's a pretty strong rumor that politics (what, again?) are involved in this one. Anyhow, it's official that Sandak has moved all its TT's to Elsinore. Because the CN calendar goofed this past Sunday riders found, or should have, a big sign, on the Corona gate stating to go on to Elsinore and that the races would be postponed for an hour to give 'em a chance to get over there. Pre,tty thoughtful of Sandak we'd say. They want to get the' day over and get home too, especially if th~s heat wave holds. Boy, if this keeps up TT riders are going to get bored stiff riding the same tracks all the, time. Wish a couple of clubs would get together and throw what we used to call back-to-backs. Like big bikes in the morning at Elsinore and tiddlen at Perris and then other way around in the afternoon. It would sure * » n n Motocross was his answer. He figures he's made more money in the desert than he could have motocrossing but from what he's been hearing there won't be any desert r~cing in a few years, and pretty soon we'll be restricted to four areas in which to ride and what fun will that be? You know he could be right but don't say you didn't know the BLM was up to, because this paper has kept you fully informed about what legislation and proposals have been and if all you read are race reports, be it on your own little head when you don't have a place to race but cycle parks or TT tracks. _ VI VI VI * ~ ;Q III .. 111 VI ~ .~ . 111 ~ II: ~ c( iii * » r- u 1/1 1'1 Goggles 1/1 > II: * Gloves III .. ... .. 111 * 1/1 1/1 1'1 III ;Q < c( 1/1 n 1'1 Spray Paint * » n 'Batteries n * Oil VI ~ II: * Honda Power Line ~ .. 1'1 1/1 New & Used Motorcycle Sales & Service VI o ;Q 111 III II: o 1'1 111 111 1/1 ... * -0 » ;Q U ~ * III iii * VI » r- ~ > II: ITI III . ... 1/1 111 * VI PARAMOUNT ANAHEIM. It was, he figured, a pretty good excuse because you don't carry a spare tire for a bike. However, this unavailability of a quick repair for a tire isn't usually anything that one is grateful for. There are quite a few tire sealants on the market, but very few of them are really handy. Some don't seal too well. Others are difficult to get into the tire. Most of them require that you also carry a pump to inflate the tire after it's sealed. The one tire repair product that we've tried that doesn't suffer any of these drawbacks is "45 Second Tire Repair", available at most dealers under that name or distributed by Kawasaki as "Kawasaki 45 Second Tire Repair". This stuff inflates the tire and seals it. It won't fix big holes, of course, but it has fixed the three tubes that we've use4 it in (one nail, one cactus, one slow leak). In one instance we replaced the tire but reused the tube containing the "45 Second Tire Repair". We reused it because it had been in there'so long that we'd forgotten about it. It's still going strong. We now carry the stuff with us whenever we're on a bike. It will fit in a large pocket or the case attaches to a rack or frame rail. The push button can has a hose 'with a fitting that screws onto the valve stem. Kawasaki's price is $3.00 a can, and the can under the other name cost us $4.95. > II: II: ITI Product evaluation It inflates, seals, and stral5 011. ITI give the youngsters some riding for the day and I can just he-ar the snivelers now complaining they're getting too much just the way they snivel when they don't get enough track time. But way back in them thar days we'd all make the grand charge from Prado to Perris and what rides some of those used to be. No wonder I've got grey hairs but you never heard the likes of Hunter, narling, Spargur, Hynemann and Fulbright snivel about all the track time they had on their booming Beezers. The latest I hear about the desert (been out of touch for a while) is that the BLM would like to keep all of it to themselves. There's a smashing interview, about six pages long, with J.N. Roberts in a September national magazine. I can't quote exactly because that's illegal without permission but the writer asked J.N. what he would go into if he was starting all over again. I!!'
