the desert with a new 175 class
machine, the Bultaco 175 Pursang. In
his first two outings he took two
runaway wins. For most of you, the
desert is what this machine is all about.
For Easterners, who have a 175
motocross class, the Pursang is going to
be all about that, too. The 175 Pursang
is an answer to a displacement class that
has cried for one, and it will most likely
be a terrific suCCess.
It won't be a tenific success because
the 175 Pursang is so fan tastic in and of
itself, but because it is in the right place
at the righ t time. The 175 is really an
overgrown 125 Pursang. It maintains the
characteristics of the 125 rather than

175cc is a move of expediency rather
than efficiency. What potential there is
in the 175 Pursang's motor will most
likely have to be tapped in tuner's
garages across America.
In its class the 175 Pursang is
competitive. It may come as no SU1prise
that many 125's are" faster than 175's.
This is the case for the Bultaco.
However the 175 Pursang does not seem
to be slower than an average stock 175.
The 175 Pursang is well suited (like its
