Never say that racers are quitters. It was really beginning to make the track sticky when all the riders decided to load up. The tr,.ctor got out on the track and began going around and around. The sprinkle let up and it was a mad dash to get bikes back out of the vans and get the leathers back on. Randy Skiver and Sonny Burres won the Experts heats. Everyone transferred to the Main. lt was a wheel-to-wheel battled between Burres and Ski"er in the Expert Trophy Dash for all three laps. Skiver beat out Burres in a hard drive to the finish line and took home the Trophy. With the impending threat of rain, the Expert Main was cut short and it was Skiver all the way. Dick Wascher held second for three laps until Marinacci moved up and took over. Burres was running in third., Alan Mundt, Steve Mowatt, john Marinacci, and Charlie Brown won the junior heats. Mundt took the honors in the junior Trophy Dash with Marinacci second. After ~o laps in the junior Main, S. Baily went too high coming into the straight and heat the wall, going down hard. He was taken to the hospital, but it was learned he suffered no broken bones and would be alright. After that, the race was restarted three 'more times, each time with Charlie Srown in the lead. The third time it was restarted, Brown took the lead and held it all the way' to win. Mundt developed ignition problems and had to drop out of the race. Marinacci came in second followed by Dave Edwards. Darrell Hendrickson dominated the Novice class, winning his heat, the Novice Trophy Dash, and the Novice Main.
