Tom CuJp was the 500 class winner on ex-Buddy Elmore Daytona winning Triumph. George Roche took the lead on the first lap of the Open Production and left every one else behind. I know, I was second - barely. I was wondering if Fred Walti and Tom Casey, who had been overtaking me for the whole race on. their Honda 500's (Casey's is actually a 570) were going to catch me, but I was saved by the flag. Mike Clarke (Yam) managed to barely edge out Richard Barron (Kaw) for the 350 win after a race long fight, but Barron took the 250 class. The 200, 125 and 100 all went to Yam;ihasin the' hands o{ John Chermak, Bill Clevenger, and Ken Ruminer. . The ACA did a pretty fine job, despite the dirt and other mung on the track.
