lack.., got hi......f a second on one of his infrequent 250 rid...
Pierre is hot on Heikki's tail. Soon after he was not: he was ahead.
SOOSUPPORT
Jim Pomeroy flashed in there with Heiki and Pie..e until he dropped it.
--
The 500 Support guys split up all
three motos, but Ron Pomeroy's'(Bul)
two seconds and a first far out distanced
everyone for the overall.
Mike Hartwig (Hus) took an
uncontested first'moto, with Pomoery
second and Rex Staten (Mai) an
ascending third. Pomeroy took the start
to finish win in the second moto, while
Staten lost his pipe while looking for
second place. Since Hartwig failed to
fmish moto two, Pomeroy looked
strong for the overall.
Between the second and third motos
Rex Staten had this to say, "I'm either
going to stuff them or myselL" Well, he
managed the former. He streaked away
from everyone and wen t on to win by
nearly a half a lap over securely second·
place Ron Pomeroy.
This was the first .of the Inter-AMA
series and didn't - exactly start off
spectacularly. A series of crossed wires
and misunderstandings turned up a
satisfactory, at best, event. The
upcoming events might do weU to shine
a bit more.
