J8, 1972 Corona Raceway was a little muddy with a different course for R.A.C.E.'s second Series raCe (last week had LO be cancelled because of rain), but Ken Zahrt was so hot he simply scorched everybody in both the l25 and 250 Expert classes. It looked like it was going LO develop inLO some killd of race in the second mota when Vidi' lead out with Zahrt right on his trail. They were all but riding each other's handlebaJ'S when J cff's bike broke on the second lap and was oul for the day, leaving Ken with nothing do but run off and leave the pack. Don Benson trucked his CZ all t.he way up from EI Monte for th Old Timer win, followed by Riversider Richard Smith (Oss) and ~lylcs Addy up from Whittier with his Husky. These Old Timers seem to have just as much fun as the little guys, if not more. They're always a very welcome sight, for even the little mini riders now realize they can still race when they, themselves, are "old guys. with beards". (No offense - just a good quote - one little nine-year-old said, "Man, with those guys out there - Lhat means I can race FOREVER!!").
