SAN JOSE:CAL., Nov. 10, 1972 - Bob
Barkhimer and his associates put
together quite a display of motorcycles
for the public to. view over this
weekend. With the weather turning so
bad, all forms of the sport of two
wheels sort of comes indoors.
The gathering of the fmest in custom
bikes, old timers and competition
equipment made for a neat display.
Seeing an old '48 Indian Chief in one
comer and then right ar~und the next
bend,
the
wildest H-D chopper
conceivable. Ste~e Hernandez's famed
Yamaba Silver Cup winner next to Mark
Brelsford's Junior National champion
winning BSA Gold Star is a might too
much for the average bike fan to
encompass in one fell swoop.
Besides Brelsford's BSA and the
Omega Ossa drawing the most attention,
th.e Ron Bennett entry of a 1954,
Vmcent restoration of Black Shadow
probably drew the most sighs. Perhaps
the ancient age machines will begin a
great comeback. The ones that were
here were certaiJIly well done.
