Mr. Henry Holback, on his CZ, stormed his way around the well-watered CAL-AM Raceway, winning three of the four motos he had entered. The 250 Expert class tried to make Henry hurry, but it was no contest. Henry was long gone! The best race of the day came in the second moto !,f the 250 Expert class when No. 33, a special Honda, fell while chasing Holback. Chris Willems, on his CZ, took up the chase leaving the' Honda in the dirt. With Holbank so far out in front, everyone watching became involved with the race for second place. As the two machines came screaming out of the last comer, the CZ and the Honda, making their own individual sounds with the rpm at the high end, both exploded to the finish as the checkered ACK PRODUCTS. .... 676 Auzerais Ave.• San Jose. Pete Scarlett (Mail, Open Expert, got his revenge today and was the only rider to win against H.H. in the second moto of the Open class. While at CAL-AM MOTOCROSS events, listen at !he rider's meeting. Or pay the penalty. Everyone was signed up and had practiced by 10:30. A rider's meeting took place at 10:40 and the rules were gone over concerning flags and starts. Apparently some people didn't get the word. One complete division of 125s were disqualified for failing to stop when the RED flag was out. The only rider not disqualified was taken away in an ambulance, having been run over several times. If it takes the elimination of thirty riders to impress upon everyone the importance of safety itl u.0tor sports, ] stand behind the CAL-AM dub all the way for taking such action.
