places had been decided by the halfway
flags with no one having a shot at Mann
unless he broke, and Brelsford and
Beauchamp secure in second and third
ahead of Dave Sehl, Larry Darr and
, Ch uck Palmgren. The trio raced and
dueled over the remaining twelve laps
with Darr slowing on lap fifteen and
Palmgren taking fourth for good ahead
of Sehl with Bart in sixth.
Gary Fisher, fighting back from a bad
start, pushed his Norton into eighth
place by lap nine and settled down to

sixteen riders on his way to the win.
Harley
established
numerical
superiority in heats one and two with
Dave Sehl, Larry Darr, and Doug Sehl
leading a first heat sweep, and Mark
Brelsford and Rex Beauchamp copping
two spots ahead of Gary Scott in heat
two. The third heat had Cal Rayborn in
third beh ind Chuck Palmgren and flying
Dick Mann. Bart Markel put Harley on
top in the Semi with Ken Roberts
