The final race of the 1971 AMA ch~pionship
circuit was won by Englishman JoOO Cooper
on a BSA Rocket III.
Cooper rode.to victory in the 250 mile,
two-heat race, finishing in third
and first places, so earning
the combined best score.
It was a hard-fought race,
undecided until the last lap
when Cooper charged strongly,
taking the win.
Once again, BSA came through
.first in the finish.
