Lars Larsson bettered his first moto fInish with a second, followed by the hard-eharging Eaton. Keys, winner of the first moto, didn't place in the second, and had to settle for fourth overall. The second 250 moto was a battle between Rapp, Chaplin, Hart and Cram. Tim Hart won it, after not placing in th e first moto. Rapp gave him a fight for second. Baron finished third but when he disqualified, fourth fmisher Gary Chaplin moved up. Cram took fourth after a second in the first moto for third overall. In the last moto of the International, WeiJ made up for his ealier absence by riding like a madman. His Maico danced over the rough ground with Wei! barely in control. He lapped the field and began to pick off the riders one by one. lf someone was in front of Adolf,he just passed him, no matter how fast the other migh t ride. Again Mikkola lapped the field hehind Wei!, but couldn't even catch up. Weil passed every American. DeSoto rode well, but was unable to place in this moto. Blackwell managed a respectable tenth place. Many of the Canadians expressed displeasure with the AMA system of scoring. Under the much-preferred FlM rules, Weil wouldn't have placed at all since he didn't run the ftrst moto. At the end of the day, Bruce Baron fmally discovered he hadn't been entered in the race. He post-entered at the track, rather than sending in a pre-entry form. He was told by officials he would be a reserve rider, and would be allowed to race only if 12 or more riders were lost from the 250 class. When Baron went to the start line at the beginning of his class to see if he could ride, the line steward, not having a list of who could and who couldn't ride, assumed he was okay to race and let him go ahead. Since he was not officially entered though, the announcer and the scorers SHOW 1lU000ARTEIIS, P.O. Baron, thinking he was en tered, rode to a creditable second and third place in the two motos, for a second overall - or so he thought.
