The A.9.S. is one of the most unique parts ordering systems ever devised. It uses the most up-to-date I.B.M. computer to calculate American Honda dealer's parts order quantities for them on a 90-day projected demand basis. The Seminars also covered the correct method of ordering parts from A.H.M., how their parts orders are processed by the A.H.M. Parts Department and all existing A.H.M. Parts Department policies and procedures. The teaching methods used are group participationg along with a generous amount of films, slides and other visual aids. Crouch said that looking at the Seminars from his experience in the Parts Department of American Honda, "It is impossible to find any basic point of policy or procedure that is not covered." Estay added, "Seminars will be limed to about 30 dealers to achieve complete communication. "We have now held our Seminars in 11 major cities and because of the interest shown hy our dealers, we plan to develop a Parts Department training center and a continuing program of 'in-the-field' Seminars to be held in strategic locations across the United States. "We're hoping that a sizable number of dealers will send their people to future Seminars we are planning," said Estay. "We feel the information gained will be very beneficial to them and will definitely outweigh the expense of both American Honda and our dealers." second and continued to set the pace as Hammer fought to stay ahead.
