SAN FRANCISCO TO HOST GIANT CYCLE STUNT SHOW - Featuring the top motorcycle stuntmen in the country, a giant stunt show is tentatively scheduled for the San Francisco Cow Palace, Saturday, October 9. International Sport Cycle Expositions, Inc., the company that produces the annual Bay Area motorcycle show, will be promoting the show, a first of its kind. Planned to highlight the show will be the World jumping Championship, where jumpers will be judged on distance, form and accuracy. Cash prizes will be awarded for the jumping competition as well as for the rear wheel riding contest which is also to be part of the program. I.S.C.E. decided upon the jumping championship after seeing all the new challengers to Evd Knievd appearing on the national scene. Also scheduled for the Cow Palace show will be Kenny Brown (the man who slides on steel shoes behind his bike) who will perform his "Wall of Fire" act. Balancing acts, crash demonstrations, precision drill team performances, and several specialty acts will also be featured. I.S.C.E. is now interviewing potential performers for the show, such as would-be jumpers, drill teams, and wheelie experts. Those interested should write I.S.C.E., P.O. Box 5945, San Francisco, California 94101, or call 415/873-2038. Two shows, an afternoon matinee and an evening performance, are planned with each one lasting three and one-half hours. Ticket prices will be announced as soon as all the acts are fmalized. Scating will consist of box scats, reserved sections, and general admission for each performance. ~ M g. « ~ w Z W ..J U >- U HAPPY ENDING Chet Hale of American Honda Motor Company advised the Four Owners Association August 11 that recall notices had been mailed to all authorized Honda dealers in the United States to improve the final drive chain system on the early CB750 Four. All registered owners will receive notice shortly after that. Bill Robinson, President of the International Four Owners Association gave the following prepared statement: "American Honda Motor Co., in announcing a recall on early models of the CB750 Four, not only took what appears to be adequate steps, but improved almost every component associated with final drive chain operation that could enhance the durability of the flDal drive chain on this model. . "In our biased opinion, Honda has always taken the lead in superior motorcycle engineering, motorcycle marketing and improving the public image of motorcycling. "Now, after several weeks of direct communication with American Honda, the Four Owners Association believes they have consciously taken a step to assume leadership in yet another role corporate responsibility to the motorcycle owner. . "If the rest of the motorcycle industry does not follow this lead, Honda's large share of the motorcycle market will maease even further - and that is as it should be."
