Leady of Glassboro, N.J. victorious on the Ed Roth Honda F IA record holder. His 13.19 was quick enough to put away Tony Ross in the final round. The trophy for Little Eliminator wen t to Gary Vesilica from Barberton, Ohio on his consistent 111M Yamaha. Several new AMDRA records were set at this Championship evenLDon Dodge recorded an AlA record of 11.04 121.62 mph on his Arnold H-D Sponsored Sponster. From the House of Beeza in Lockport, N.Y., Jim Crompton rode .. 12.45 with his Kawasaki Mach Ill, while Norbert Niszczak rode the Cycle International GIS Honda "750" to a new record at 12.83. After the trophy classes ran their eliminations, the big iron staged for their final r u n s . , . Top Gas was firs t. Marv Jorgenson had beaten Bob Mauriello in the first and Guy Leaming in the second and now had to face the old master himself. Routt put a beautiful hole shot on Marv and trounched him with a 10,63 for the win. Larry Welch's turn next as he had to face California ace, Joe Smith, for the big one in Top Fuel. When the light went green, Welch dropped the hammer on 110 inches of nasty and blasted off the line. Smith's big H-D bogged and broke 40 feet out and Larry motored on down for a 9.65 easy victory. The next event on the AMDRA National calendar is at MapJe Grove Dave Campos. Dennis Baldwin's BSA Rocket "3" to a new D/Altered record of 11.42 at 115.83 mph. The Kocha Bros, riding for V.LP. HOnda in Plainfield, N.J, lowered the F/A record to 12.83 at 101.01 on their 450cc charger, County Cycle Center in J;:ddystone, Pa. captured records in DIM (Bill Jacona, HOnda "4" at 12.32 - 104,4) and in FIM with John Ferguson on his Honda "450" at 13.56 - 92.97 mph.
