If you have removed the clutch push piece for any reason, make sure you replace it before installing the pressure plate. When installing the pressure plate, the bolts holding the springs are' run all the way to bottom and tightened down, the spring tension is an automatic thing and not adjustable as on English motorcycles. c. en " ~ w Z W ...J (,) >- (,) With the clutch cover removed, the next step is to remove the four bolts holding the clutch springs and the pressure plate. These should be backed off progressively three or four turns each until they come free from the spring tension. With the pressur~ plate removed, the clutch driving and driven plates may be removed. You mayor may not find some of the plates hied in place by the small wire spring clips shown here. These are to assist the plates in separating when the clutch is disengaged, there is some controversy as to how much good is done by them, but they are usually left out without any adverse affects. If the plates are warped, they should be replaced, but if they are just shiny and glazed, they can be roughed up with a piece of coarse sandpaper and reused again. ---'"'l ~, ~sj( , ~~~1 . Now replace the new driving plates into the clutch assembly and install them' back into the clutch hub in the same order that they were removed. If you are installing a Barnett clutch, it will come with a thick aluminum plate that replaces the inside steel plate, thus must be installed to give the clutch assembly the correct th ickness, meaning that you will have one steel plate left over when you are finished. The plates are installed into the hub alternately, driven, driving, driven, etc. West Coast Dlst. for 1I : PENTON Motorcycles 1 1/ '\.' /...ji., Ct;:J SACHS tf dOlDlnates lDotoC"os~' :.#1f .... .'1?' til -.._ " - fJj timichrome jL.~·/$bines SUddenly With the pressure plate locked down, all that remains is re-installing the cover and other components, filling it with oil and re-adjusting the clutch on the right-hand side according to the riders handbook and you are in business.
