REDDING fINDS HOT LINE AT TROJAN By Eddie Smith SOUTH GATE, CALIF. June 18, 1970Kirk Redding rode to victory In two tropby dashes and two main events Thursday night at Trojan Speedway. Redding was mounted onaKawasa.k1forfourwins. Redding was the winner In the 100 TT Main Event by beating Ron WW1a.ms, riding a Hodaka., to the finish line. Joe Erwin placed third on his Honda. Bob Sanders took to the track In the first turn of the race when he got tangled uP In some traffic. Sanders was unhurt In the mishap. In the 100 flat track Redding was across the finish line first. Again Redding was followed by WW1a.ms. Third place went to Frank Baldozier. Redding a.lso rode to victory In the 125 TT trophy dash and placed first In the 100 flat tra~k trophy dash. Riding a Kawasaki, Tommy Horton won the 100 TT trophy dash. Mounted on an AJS Horton placed' first In the 250 TT dash. Tommy then went on to win the 250 TT Main. Yamaha rider Bob Byars finished second while Ron Powell, riding a Bultaco, took the third spot. The 250 flat track trophy dash was won / Tommy HQrton, winner of the 100TT Trophy Dash and the 250cc TT Main Event, leads the pack through a Trojan Speedway cprner. by Ron Powell riding a Bultaco. Tom Warren won the 250 flat track Main Event on his Bultaco. Powell settled, for second with Dennis Stagic, a.lso on a Bultaco, taking third. The 250 flat track Semi Main was probably the best race during the evening. Larry Moon, riding a Bultaco, jumped Into the lead at the start and held onto it. On the last laP rigbt at the finish line Larry's younger brother, Phil, passed him for the win. Phil and Larry are the sons of Irwin Moon who is the current point leader at Trojan Speedway. Dale Hopkins kept his winning streak alive In the 125 TT Main Event. Hopkins Kirk Reddrng leads the way around, on hi,S way to one of his four wins. won the race with room to spare over Kirk Redding. Tommy Horton placed third. Hopkins was the winner again In the 125 flat track Main. Dennis Hanson placed second with Tommy Horton taking the third spot again. Hopkins also ride to victory In the 125 flat track tropby dash. The 250 bikes will put on a FIFTY LAPPER over the TT course on July the 2nd. There is a $300.00 purse for the race.
