Dawson's 250 machine ls actually a bored out .l,75cc model and looks very simllar to the machine he rides in tile 125 class. So simllar, in fact, tbat one rider lodged a protest. and CMC offic1als made a careful check to determine tbat it was, Indeed, a 175cc Yamaha. Ossa was the name at the game in the 250Cc Junior battle, as David Pessey led three at tile Spanish bikes to 1st, 3rd and 5th place fln1shes.Designedprlmarllyas a TT mach1ne, tile Ossa's seemed right at home on the Ascot course. One Ossa rider, in fact, used TT tires Instead at the traditional knobbtes. Pit racing decreased noticeably dur-Ing Thursday nlgbt's race- but only after a spectator and rider were Injured bY two hit-and-run pit squirrels during practice. CMC President. Stu Peters, lssued a strong ed1ct during rider's meeting, stating that anyone caught in the pits with tIIelr machines at more than an ldle would be immed1ately dlsqua11f1ed. It seemed to work. At least temporarily. A1 though rider attendance was down bY nearly 50 riders from the previous week, spectators st111 turned out In force for the regular Thursday night feature. According to Peters, the course w1ll be changed appreciably for next week's race. Pits open at 4: 30 pm each week, with racing scheduled to begin at 7: 30 pm. There ls a $5 post entry, with Experts racing for a $200 purse and Juniors for trophies. (Results on page 22) .
