of 35-40 mph, did little to please the good.slzed spectator and rider turn out. Never the less, It was a fine day of racing f or those that chose to
brave the elennls. Chuck Lunde and John Maynard (neither pictured here) had one of t he closest battles of the day In the third moto of the 250cc
Sr. Class. It was wheel to wheel all through the ten lap event, with Lunde finally winning by less than a yard. See completll results on page 19.

1970 - Bill Berry. executive dtrector of the American Motorcycle
Association (AMA). has resigned.
effective Apr il 30. 1970. it was reported today by a reliable source.
Detalls of the resignation were not
immediately revealed, althoughfactions In the organization have long
sought Berry's ~ dismissal. The
AMA's executive board will meet
this week to consider the resignation and possible action: More detalls are .expected to be released
by press time next week.
