Apr1124, 1970Larry Shaw and Rob Morrison each won two main events and a trophy dash Friday night at Trojan Speedway. Shawwinn1ng his events in the 125 class. while Morrison did the honors in 100cc competition. , Shaw. mounted on a lOOcc Kawasaki, won the 125cc flat track trophy dash, and the 125 flat track Main Event. beating Bob Sander's Ka wasaki and John Sperry's Yamaha. Shaw also took flrstplace in the 125 TT Maln Event. Tom Flynn. rid1nga Yamaha, was second and Tom Horton brought his Malco in third. Shaw also finished fourth in the 100cc flat track Main and finished fifth in the 100 TT Main Event. Morrison, also riding a Kawasaki. won the 100 TT trophy dash, as well as grabbing the lOOcc TT Main Eventawayfrom Bob Sanders, who finished second. Rob also won the 100 flat track Main, with Sanders right behind him again. Joe Monoham was third on a Yamaha. Jimmy Stein won the 250 flat track Main Event riding a Malco. Steve Mudd took second place on a Bultaco. Mike Curoso took third on another Bultaco, Stein also won two trophy dashes. He took first in the 250 TT and then won the 250 flat track dash. Five of nine bikes entered in the 250cc flat track trophy dash were involved in spectacular accident in the first turn of the race. The five riders were Irwin Moon, Jimmy Stein. Steve MUdd, Bill Hosford and Mike Curoso. No riders were injured in the mishap. Motocross Expert John DeSoto rl<:1ing a C-Z won the 250cc TT Main Event. DeSoto also won two heat races and placed second in the 250cc TT trophy dash. Stein was second behind DeSoto in the 250 TT Main. Danny Corbett, riding a Yamaha, won the 125cc TT trophy dash. Danny finished fourth in the 125cc TT Main, also 'settling for fourth in the 125cc flat track Main Event. Five year old Lesa Warren presented the trophies to all the trophy dash winners. Flat track and TT steeplechase racing will move to Thursday night starting Apr11 30th. at Trojan Speedway . Racing starts at 7:30 p.m, sharp.
