The natives of Chicago have come up with
an excellent way to keep the oil warm during
those cold , windy days when most
two-wheelers sit idle . Northern m otorcyclists
look for an outle t during the early mo nths of
the year, so what better tim e to throw a show
th an during th e first days of J anuary.
Conseque ntly, when Howard Yance y of
American Motorcycle Shows opened th e huge
Chicago Internati on al Amphitheatre to
Cy cle-R ama 70 , more than 70 ,000
enth usia stic spectators from Illinois, Ohio ,
Wisconsin, and Indiana turned out during th e
three-day sho w to see the best antiques and
customs in the east . And along with the
special machines were displays by distributors
and accessory manufacturers.
With th e winter warmth of aD that shin y
iron and those lovely miniskirted girls,
Cycle-Rama is becoming the most important
happening in easte rn motorcycling this time
of year. In only its second year, the show was
recognized as worthy of extensive TV news
coverage. That kind of press wiD insure an
even gre ate r extravaganze next January .
This 1917 Traub develops 15 horse power from its 1280cc V-twin. It is owned by Albert Tocci
at Midwest Motorcycle Irnports in Chicego.
