On the first leg he took the lead followed by Roger DeCoster (C-Z), Dave Btckers (C-Z) and Jim Wilson (Greeves). DeCoster was flat out and f1y1ng. He couldn't catch Aberg, but he was impressive to watch. To everyone's disappointment he was forced out In the carburetor leaIdng second leg with air, makIng the throttle stick wide open. Also up among the front runners was Torsten Hallman (Husqvarna) apparently well recovered from the injurieS that have plagued bim latelY. When the points were tabulated It was Jim Wilson first American and seventh over-all. The 125 Junior Class had some racing every bit as tough as the International. Bryar Holcomb (Penton) and Gene Cannady (Sachs) settled it out for the win. Cannady won the first leg followed In by Gary Jones (Yamaha). Gary dropPed , It right before the tlntsh line but was so far ahead that be had time to remount and f1n1sh before the third place man got him.
