Kno bys Kneat For Kniekielll LA GRANGE, CALIF. Nov. 30-RayHuff wins the 650 Amateur-Expert main scrambles in runaway style from start to finish on his BSA Victor, as he has done many times before. But the race for second is hot and close between Jorgy Jorgensen, BSA and John Green, Monr tesa powered. Jorgy holds second down for 14 of the 15 lap maln, with Green on his rear wheel all the way. In the first turn on lap 15, Green reallY lets it all hang out in his bid to get by the BSA, forcing the mistake, which Jorgy commits and drIving on to take over second. Jorgensen recovers quickly and then chases Green down for the checkered flag, but Green holds on for the number two spot, leaving Jorgy third. Dennis Kniekiem cleans hourse, Kawasaki-style, in the 100 Novice department. The 200Cc Novice race also starts out hot, with Phil Anderson, Ossa mounted for Tom's Cycle Center of Concord, coming off the starting line on the rear wheel in first place all the way to the first turn. He holds the pack back for three laps with Marvin Helzer, on a Sachs, running second and making his bid for the win toward the end of laP three. Helzer's chance comes with Anderson going a little too wide, Halzer dives under Phil and takes over the lead, stretches it out and holds on for the win. It's Phil's first ride on a 200, movIngup from the 100 class. It looks like a good move. Wendell Davidson, riding a BSA, bags the 650 Novice main, putting in a fine ride, but it may be under protestbecause he'S on a 500, 1 guess we'll have to wait and see. Many other riders also put on very good rides and all the racing 15 very good all day. The track stays great - a good old-faShioned scrambles. The track is laid out over natural terrain, watered the day before and th~n raced on and never touched with a blade or drag. The Knoby's Motorcycle Club 15 herebY commended for a real scrambles track and a great day of racing. • Also praise be to the Modesto Ambulance Company for coming outtor all day and not charging the club a penny. They say the show is worth it. Hope to see more 'Of the real scrambles from the Knobys. (Results on page 16) Skid Pins Castro, Brelsford Wins Again!
