He rides a pretty snappy bike, whicb Is somewllat famous in itself, 11' s the winner of tile AC 100 contesttor Motocross. The sharp looldng Uttle Suzuki 100 was bullt and Is owned by Homer Slaps, the parts man for Custom Motorcycle SuPPly in Riverside, Homer Is Richard's gUardian angel and Is always close at hand when Richard Is aboard to make sure noth1ni loes wronl with either him or the bike. Richard lOt started racing by walchIIllt open practlce. He didn't even ha\'e to see the real thlOi to know racing was for him. He also wants a place for bike riders to come, so let's ilve him a hand and let those letters written to Judge Wilkerson, Perris Justice Court, Perris, Callfornla. ~ WHEATS "PEOPLE EATER" C.H. Wheat and son Chuck made a rare appearance at the Saturday nlght races at Perrls and brought along' 'The People Eater" better known as the 50 Icc Malco. According to C.H. It Is the only one of Its kind In the Unlled States and ls strictly a prototype. Hls job will be to see what the bike Is capable of doing and what is going to cause it to breakdown. This bike has a power curve of 3000 to 9500 rpm's and Is a three speed which means it's fast. C.H, haS no Idea at what the horsepower is as they won't tell him. A 360Cc Malco has 43 so you can take It from there. The handling characteristics are fantastlc said C.H. Chuck Jr. claimed he had power allover the place. One Malco rider who was looki.Jg at the bike said 11 needed to be cha1ned uP Vlhen it wasn't runntng so 11 wouldh't eat dogs and small children: thus, the 50lcc Malco was tagged "The People Eater", Production date for the bike should be early '71 at which time It will come out as a four speed instead of the present three. C,H. and Chuck will be testing the bike on TT tracks for some time. AUSTIN, TEX" Oct. 26, 1969- New on the a&enda for the thlrd running of the Austln Motocross Park fall/wlnter serIes was the riders' school held on October 25th, the day before the race. With a wide cross-section of the competition field attending, there was an en11lhtenIng and beneficial exchanle of thought. The sport surely benet1ted from the proceedings, In conjunction with the riders' school, the race meet on the following day locluded a special class for beglnn1ng racers, Also new for the meet was the direction of circulation, clockwise thls time, and thus oriented, the Novices got ofr first. Limited to lOOCc displacement, the field was naturally-fllled-out with Hondas and Hodakas. Fred Jobnson mounted on a Hodaka took first overall with two firsts and a second tor a low total of four points. Sam Griggs (Honda) was next with ten, and Tommy Binion riding a Hodaka was thlrd with twelve. Bennie Campbell had Intended to go fishing Sunday, but a chance encounter that mornlng with a racing buddy resulted In a trip to Austin (from San Antonlo) and a victory ride In a borrowed 125cc Yamaha, Wlley, wirey Gary Bigley Is not accustomed to losing, but three times In a row he had to yield to the older and more experienced Campbell. Behind the Yamahas of Campbell and Bigley, Perry Lorenz brought his Penton In to thlrd place with eleven points. Bigley'S Yamaha team-mate, Jack 0' Leary, encountering no such surprise dlfflcultles as had befallen Gary, continued his traditlon of winnlng three-uP In the 250Cc class.
