ASCOT'S OCTOBER TT's TO END IN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP The swltch to TT racing during the month of October at Ascot has proved to be popular with the riders and fans. After two Friday night outings the results show two completely dltferent grouPs of winners. All of the riders around the state are now at home for the rest of the year from the national events so the weekly shows will take on the appearance of regular national-type races. Managing Director J.C. Agajanian has corraled one of the strongest steeplechase fields to compete outside of a Nattlonal Championship event this season. Included are the nation's second and third ranking performers, Gene Romero of San Luls Obispo and Cal Rayborn. Skip Van Leeuwen and Gene Romero have come uP as the Expert main event winners the past two Friday nights with Keith Mashburn and Dave Aldana supplying the Amateur action. The Novice class boasts of at least ten riders that have run uP front: Tad Sloane, John Hateley and Jim Raymond have done the best job to date. The final TT to be held Friday, Nov. 7, will be for the 1969 State Championship tlUe. The weekly half mile shows . which ran from April to the annual national is discontinued until the final event for the State Championship title, Saturday, Nov. 1. Professional racing will resume next year at Ascot, starting in February• MOTOCROSS 1600.00 :~~~. $l~~;~:~O .Bay Mare-Oct 26, 1969 S 20t11 Alllllal Bi lIy Goat HARE & & 500 Jr. Sr. Sprt. Sr. InU.
