The result of this close competition was Randy's victory for first, Mike Rockwell second, and Joe Allen third. With the 100's first off the line, itwas Redding's Amateur, Billy Hoell, in the lead from start to finish, and Evan Wipe hot on his tail for first Novice. The ever growing 125 class got off with a roar. All of them hit the first turn together, but coming out of the turn, it was Ted Bare with Ron Harlin and Vick Krill right behind. The battle was on. Vic slipped by Ron to push Ted. Then all of a sudden, Ron was back in second and Vic was out. Then UP popped Terry Fish to do battle with Ron, while Ted stayed out in front. Ed Brown was showing them how it's .done in the 200 class with Mark Carter giving him a bad time. It wasn't long, though, until Ed retired with his tall pipe missing, and Mark went on to take a fairly easy win.
