The clubs wtIl be the East LondaD and the South London cblIpters. This marks the first charter received by a group outside of the United States. British Hell's Angels ride c:boIJpers like their American counterparts, wIIich are for the most part Harley-Davidsons. The British choppers are generally 45s which have been bougbt from army surplus. Although the h1kes are not the equal of the American Hell's Angles they are not bad for England, President Barger explained, "because they are stiD the best available." Prior to its international expansion, the Hell's Angels had chapters in the major cities across the United States. WANT ADS The "Flying Dutchman" Ray Vanderpool, chased him across the finish line and Mike Chamberlain finished third. By Bill Harmer CHULA VISTA, CAL., Aug. 17, 1969Yamaha mounted Carl Bye;:s swept the 250cc Expert Class, and Norton pilotJim Harmon captured the Open Expert Event to share top honors here today. In the 250cc Series of.Motos, Byers easily won all three on the Jon Knapp tuned machine that was vacated by defending District 38 Champion, Ward Ring when he re-injured his leg at Dehesa last week. The Kawasaki Kid, Wayne Clarke, gave a good account of himself and narrowly heat out Bultaco-mounted Ray Vanderpool for second place. In wlnnlng the Open Expert Event, Jim Harmon, turned back Triumph mounted Wayne Hosaka in a hub to hub duel in the final moto. The final point scoring was 796 for Harmon and 771 for Hosaka. Rich Ribley riding Mike Garrett's Norton looked impressive in the first moto but failed to follow through in the last two, finishing third in the final tally. The 500cc Expert Class was dominated by District 37 riders with BSA mounted Gary Jones of HaciendaHeights taking top honors. His father Don Jones, also BSA mounted, captured third. Mike Chamberlain brought his Triumph in second. At the last two San Diego area TT races, the Don Vesco Yamaha 125, a twin ridden bY Jim Chitwood has screamed away from all the singles and we have been expecting someone to try something to change the situation. This week there was a bike there to chal1engeh1m. WUlle Anderson, a San Diego County Probation Officer, bought a 125cc Yamaha Enduro and the old master-tuner, Earl Roloff, Sr. rebuilt it on a Van Tech frame and 12 year old Earl, Jr. rode it, but we'llhave to wait to see how it will do against Vesco's twin as Don and his entire crew have gone to Bonneville for the speed trials. There were not enough 125cc Expert entries to make UP a class, so little Earl had to run in the 200cc division which he won ·handily.
