Sunday mornlng, with most members eager to go and riders panting to start sign- UP tJIe entry forms still hadn't shown UP (wbat club hasn't had that happen at one time or another? so they borrowed some trom Perr15 Valley and got to VIOrk. All races were mass starts, ten laps 10 duration 1nclud1ng the Powder Puffs and all run on the long course, backwards. If you've ever ridden Perr15 backwards you know how neat It 15. A lot of us actually preter It than the regular way. For the first tvro or three races the track was quite moist and sllck 10 spots (yeah!) but It really got bad and dusty as the larger Ughtweights moved out onto It unt1llt was 1m.POsslble to see. Hank Scott (Honda) took the first w1n of the day 10 the 50 class with a n1ce marg1n ahead of Jay Lewis (Yamaha) and young Coolde Summers(Honda) complete with bts Red Baron scarf. Powder Puffs came next and tor three or four laps they mixed it pretty good unt1l the d1stance and the heat began to take Its toll but all f1n1shed althought gallons of Gatorlide flowed afterwards. DIane Connolly (Hodata) VIOn followed 10 by Lynnette Burk on a potent Uttle Loblto and Debbie Sanders (KawasaJd). Steve Nichols (Yamaha) who had just won tJIe lOOCc Expert Malo beating out Troy McKee (Hodaka) andRlchardSweaney (KawasaJd), bumped hard with Gary Caldwell (Yamaha) around the rock turn on the start of the 125 EJ
