Dave Smith, the tall likeable Englishman From
Birmingham won both leps oJ the International
500 Sunday July 13 on his high flying 405 Talon.
Dave survived a second lap collision and a torn off
right boot, Shifted Barefoot, and still won the
second leg despite a very determined ride by Ron
elson on his fast Maico
Brad (The Brat) Lackey of San Raffel brought his
405 Talon home to afirst and second in the 500 Jr.
legs to win the 500 Jr. Moto Cross. He also won
the first leg of the 250 Jr. on his 250 Geronimo and
placed third in the final standings after a late start
cost him the econd leg.
