In the preview showing of this sleek power plant, all reports point to its' being one of the most exciting and high perfonnance machines ever built in its' class. Savage features a singJe cylinder 23 hp engine which climbs 3S degree grades without the sligJltest effort. Posi-Force lubrication cuts oil mixing; it has a detachable headlight for competition; and a flip-top seat for ease of maintenance. Savage also sports knobby 19" front and IS" rear tires; moto-cross type front forks with 6.S" travel; and a dual-<:radle frame for extra strength. Other features on the Savage are: 3 way adjustable rear shocks with inner cover for dirt deflection; a separate instrument module with individual speedometer/tachometer. Savage weighs in at a light 271 Ibs.; a bore & stroke of 2.76"x2.S2"; a compression ratio of 6.6: I; and maximum torque: 17.2 f1./lbs. at S,ooo rpms. with racing kit the engine produces 31 hp. at 7000 RPM. With a powerful 39 hp dual-stroke engine, it has a top speed range of 10S-110 mph and does the SSY. mile in 13.S seconds. _. ./ _.:--_~,-.J..oij Come hill or high water, the new Cat from Suzuki is long on looks and prepared for the worst terrain. One of the most appreciated features on the new Cat is the "Posi-Selcct" lransmission_ This is a system that ends forever the messy manual sprocket changing and makes the Suzuki one of the quickest and easiest gear changing machine in the industry (you don't even have to get off the machine to flip the lever). The power plant on the Cat is a strong 12 hp @S,OOO rpm's which allows you to climb 40 degree hills with full power through a wide torque range. For added durability and strength, Suzuki has introduced the new "tri-form frame"; triple adjusting rear shocks; and scrambler type re-inforced handle bars. With Grand Prix styling all the way, U.S. Suzuki has produced a distinctive new design for the l2Scc class ...named the Stinger. The power plant is a dual...troke paralleled twin cylinder lS.l hp engine which turns the SS liS mile in 11.3 seconds and has a top speed range of 70-7S mph.
