Veteran tuner-sponsor Gary Bray , longtime backer of the BSA Gold Star racers at Ascot and other National events, will head a new two -rider r acing team on the west coast for 1968. Bray has switched to the HarleyDavldsQll brand for this season and will have two well known veter ans, Dan Haaby and Gene Romero r acing for him at Ascot and other national events . Both Haaby and Romero started their professional racing careers on H- D' s with Haaby switching to BSA and Bray the end of his Am ateur year . Romero r ode the 250 H- 0 during his Novice year before Jumpi ng to Triumph when he turned Amateur. Bray I s now In the pr ocess of setting up a speed shop and wUi devote full time to the-tuning and building of racing equipment f or the two expert classed riders. Both are two of the better known allaround r iders and wi ll ride Harley 45' S on the halt-mUes, miles and road race cour ses and then switch to the larger Spor t ster models for the monthly TT events. Included In the team garage will be a pai r of matching 250 Spr i nt models that will be used for the short tracks and especially the HoustonAstrodome Indoor national on F eb. 10th .
